Hi, I'm Mia
I am a project manager. I am a parent. I’m an expat living in Ottawa, Canada.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
Origins of the Move
Moving to Canada wasn't in the original plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job offer and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding— unfamiliar processes, new routines, elevated expectations. Daily chores seemed more challenging than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning were part of it. Gradually routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began shaping something that felt secure.
Why I Created CrestCloudHarbor
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap— practical advice rooted in real life in Canada.
What this site represents (And does not)
This site is:
- Real-world experience from residing in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly shifts
This site isn't:
- A resource for tourism authorities
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel journal
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada goes on, along with the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Ottawa or anywhere in Canada, please get in touch.
Best regards,
Mia
